Description
Lithogen offers the Geonics EM38-4 conductivity meter for rent in Canada and the USA.
The Geonics EM38-4 conductivity meter simultaneously measures both the quadrature-phase (conductivity) and the in-phase (magnetic susceptibility) components. The advantage of the EM-38-4 are its 4 coils, which allow it to do real-time two-layer soil structure inversions while recording. The instrument is very lightweight and portable, allowing for rapid collection of data with excellent lateral resolution. With a maximum effective depth of 1.5 meters, the EM38 is commonly used in agriculture, archaeology, and general soil sciences.

Dataloggers (and the optional GPS units) contain lithium ion batteries. If shipping by air, the appropriate info is: UN3481 lithium ion batteries packed with equipment (packing instruction PI967), cells below 20 Wh, battery packs below 100 Wh. If the equipment is shipped with a datalogger or GPS, it will ship with the UN3481 sticker on the case.
